Hazel’s love of photography began early, but her involvement in local camera clubs has helped her
hone her skills.
She is currently president of the Huntington Photographic Society; immediate past-president and treasurer of the Greater Bridgeport Camera Club; president of the Connecticut Association of Photographers; and a member of the New Haven Camera Club and the Photographic Society of America – of which she is also the PSA “Journal” Camera Club Columnist. She enjoys being active in the photographic community and helping others find the joy and satisfaction in taking beautiful images.
She also currently is teaching classes in Photoshop Elements for Beginners and Intermediates as well as
Pro Show Gold.
Hazel finds all types of photography enjoyable, but tends to focus on nature and the great outdoors. She and her husband, Dave, have made several trips to the American Southwest in the past few years, where she has come to appreciate the stark beauty of the desert.
Her photos have won many awards and competitions in the past few years in both local club competitions and international salons. She also recently received an honors distinction of Master Member of the New England Camera Club Council (MNEC) during its annual conference. This award is given to those who have performed exceptional service for the Council, and have substantially advanced photography in the New England area through lecturing, teaching, judging and through other administrative activities in photographic organizations.
She has had exhibits of her work at various businesses, libraries, and restaurants in Connecticut.
In contrast, Meredith Images can be found on many Saturday nights at the local NASCAR track shooting the fast-paced action and indulging husband Dave’s passion for auto-racing, where he partakes as a free-lance motorsports writer.
