October 3-12, 2024

Our 2024 Photography Workshops are better than ever!

Join one of our best photography workshops yet! Spend 10 days covering all 8 states that Route 66 crosses from Illinois to California! 

You’ll fly in to St. Louis, MO to begin our journey (on October 3rd), and fly home from Las Vegas, NV (on October 12th).

Embark on an exhilarating photography workshop tour along Route 66, participants will immerse themselves in captivating visual storytelling amidst historic landmarks and scenic landscapes. The itinerary skillfully integrates practical sessions and collaborative discussions to facilitate a dynamic learning environment. Photographers, refining their technical skills, gain profound insights into storytelling through the lens under the guidance of experienced instructors. From cityscapes to desert vistas, the journey unfolds with diverse subjects, encouraging creative exploration. Along this transformative photographic adventure on Route 66, participants not only refine their craft but also forge meaningful connections with fellow enthusiasts.

TENTATIVE GENERAL ITINERARY:

    • LOTS of iconic Route 66 locations including: Old motels, gas stations, cars/trucks
    • Gateway Arch, Grand Canyon and Petrified Forest National Parks
    • Winslow, AZ (yep – you’ll be “Standin’ on the Corner in Winslow, AZ”)
    • State Route 66 Museums; Murals and Graffiti

    • Lots of “kitsch” and much more!

INCLUDED IN THE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP FEE:

    • All meals (some breakfasts will be at hotel) – includes welcome dinner first night.
    • All hotel accommodations during the workshop
    • Transportation throughout the workshop in a 15-passenger van
    • Water and snacks while on the road
    • Entry fees to any museums or national parks we visit

NOT INCLUDED IN THE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP FEE:

    • Travel to starting point and home from ending point
    • Other snacks, alcohol, incidentals, souvenirs

    • Trip Insurance (MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

PHYSICAL ABILITY:
This workshop does not require any long hiking, but we do walk 2-4 miles a day, mostly on paved ground, though some spots are hilly or uneven.

Experience 10 days traveling to California, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico!

You’ll fly in to Las Vegas, NV, to begin our journey (on October 14th), and fly home from Albuquerque, NM (on October 23rd).

Embarking on a dynamic Southwest U.S. photography workshop tour, participants explore captivating visual storytelling across California, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico. The well-designed itinerary blends practical sessions and collaborative discussions, fostering a dynamic learning environment. Guided by experienced instructors, photographers refine technical skills and gain insights into storytelling through the lens. Transitioning between California’s dynamic scenes, Nevada’s landscapes, Arizona’s iconic vistas, and New Mexico’s cultural richness offers diverse subjects for creative exploration. Along this transformative photographic journey, participants not only hone their craft but also form meaningful connections with fellow enthusiasts.

TENTATIVE GENERAL ITINERARY:

    • Two abandoned towns
    • Joshua Tree, Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, and Tuzigoot National Parks
    • Valley of Fire
    • Sedona and surrounding areas; Albuquerque and Santa Fe
    • A “gotta” do it – Winslow, AZ (yep – you’ll be “Standin’ on the Corner in Winslow, AZ”)

    • A few other iconic Route 66 locations since we’ll be passing by!

Passing through TN but don’t have time for a 3-day workshop?
Join me for a one-on-one, one-day workshop!
Spend part of the day photographing old barns and back roads, then we’ll spend time on perfecting your post-processing.
We can spend more time photographing or more time on post-processing – your choice!
